Beethoven, in his last period, longed for a Graf piano. Graf loaned him one with quadruple stringing in 1825, which Beethoven kept until his death. Paul McNulty’s replica is after a Graf four-string piano of 1822, now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
